A History of Hunting. Hunting games for food, clothing and shelter are a big part of the story of mankind. It predates human civilization that we know today in many ways. There are many discoveries being made that confirm this idea. As a spearhead of Asian fossils that were discovered recently more than 16,000 years old, for example. There is also evidence that we used larger animals for food nearly two million years ago.
A History of Hunting |
The earliest forms of hunting involved, as far as experts can know, involve weapons such as spears or bows and arrows fired from a distance. Believe it or not, our ancestors caught their food using the same method that we used to catch buses to work when we were late. We chased him. Before he learned to use long-range weapons, early humans had no other way to catch his dinner than to be persistent and wear it during long trips, sometimes even in the middle of a hot day. Some early hunters will chase a deer more than 20 miles in heat more than 100 degrees. Hunting persistence will become the rule today. African hunters will chase a Kudu, which is an early version of the deer, by surprising the animal so that it runs away. They will chase the animal at a fast pace, and, while the faster Kudu will always be far ahead, the hunters will catch up when it takes time to rest in the shade. The hunter will finally finish off the animal with a spear, but not until he is at close range. This type of hunting is still being carried out in South Africa.
With change in human society, hunting developed. When we started growing our own food and raising animals, hunting became a special task. Not only traditional masculine efforts, hunting is a special task with traders getting the right training. Another trend is hunting being the domain of top-class sports and recreation. This is where the word 'game' in English becomes common.
Hunting also has other effects on our modern society. Various animals have been used to help hunters, but nothing is important to us like dogs. The use of ancestors of wolves to take prey and become our loyal friend has made the dog different. Domestication, which takes thousands of years, is considered an extraordinary achievement. The tie between humans hunting and dogs moves far back so the word for hunting in ancient Greek comes from the word dog.
Perhaps the most famous type of hunting is safari, which was popularized by American writer Ernest Hemingway. The word itself comes from Swahili, which means a long journey, and the safari type most common in Africa. It is often several days or weeks of camping while stalking or hunting big matches, but in a more modern sense, it also includes traveling through African national parks to hunt or watch big matches. Unlike their predecessors who were their prey many years before, modern African hunters often get special licenses and get help from local professionals. There are even modern types of safaris where no animals are killed. The safari photos are exactly the name and a Polish photographer first used the term "hunting without blood".
